Throughout the autumn of 2019, the Arkansas State Legislature's Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs has held public meetings across the state. The dual purposes of these meetings are to

1. help inform members of the state's retirement programs and the general public about the financial status of the systems, and
2. receive feedback regarding the systems.

APERS wants to encourage employees to attend committee meetings, give feedback, and meet committee members and APERS staff. Please note these town halls are NOT retirement seminars regarding your eligibity for benefits (the schedule of those seminars is at http://apers.org/seminars). 

Although these town halls will be held during work hours, employees who wish to attend will not be required to use annual leave, provided that

• Supervisory approval is received in advance, and,
• Attendance will not disrupt agency operations or customer service.
