7/1/11 - ACTIVE Act 140 of 2011 (HB 1158) opens a “window of opportunity” for current non-contributory members to select contributory service starting on 7/1/11. For more information visit our Going Contributory Page. On The Going Contributory Page or the Forms page, you can be find the Contributory Election Form.

6/27/11 - DROP Participants due to security enhancements on the web site,  you are being required to reestablish your credentials. When you log into the DROP Access page, you will be directed on how to do it. This is a onetime procedure.  If you have any questions please contact APERS at 501-683-6049 or 501-683-6050.  

6/09/11 – RETIRED Eligible retirees of the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS) will receive their three percent (3%) cost of living adjustment (COLA) on July 1, 2011.

5/16/11 - ACTIVE / NEAR RETIREMENTThere will be a new window of opportunity for Non-Contributory Members to switch to the Contributory program. More information on Going Contributory can be found on the Seminars page.

5/3/11 - ACTIVE / NEAR RETIREMENTThe Office of Social Security Administration has advised APERS that they will not be presenting at our seminars this year.

3/2/11 – IMPORTANT NOTICE OF CHANGES FOR DROP PARTICIPANTS

1/27/11 – RETIRED The 2010 1099 R forms will be mailed by January 31, 2011. If you have not received the 1099 R form by February 15, 2011, you may request a duplicate by completing the Request For a Duplicate 1099R found on the Forms Page under the Retiree heading. Request for duplicate 1099 R Forms must be in writing and will not be accepted by telephone.

1/17/11 - ACTIVE / NEAR RETIREMENT The cities for the 2011 Retirement Seminars have been determined and the online registration is back online. As specific locations in each city are determined, the page will be updated. For the latest information and to register go to the Seminars Page.

12/26/10 -Are you Vested in the System and considering a Termination Refund?
If you have terminated employment and you were a Contributory Member, you can elect to have your contributions refunded to you. If you have 5 or more years of service (vested) you should consider carefully before doing so. 1/03/11 - ACTIVE / NEAR RETIREMENT The preliminary sites for the 2011 Retirement Seminars can be found on the Seminars Page. Once final locations are confirmed, online registration will be back up.

10/05/10 -RETIREES whose monthly benefits are paid by state warrants instead of being directly deposited into their bank accounts had their October benefits delayed... Click here to read more!

8/30/10 - Active Annual Member Statements were mailed out at the end of August to all members who were reported by their employer as active between April 1, 2010 - June 30, 2010 (the last quarter of the fiscal year).  Please allow 2 weeks for postal delivery. If you have not received your Annual Statement by Friday,  September 10, 2010 you may request a duplicate copy to be mailed to you by using the form found here.  Simply return the completed form via mail or fax to Attn: APERS Member Records.

8/30/10 -RETIREES Annual DROP Statements have gone out for those members in the DROP.. If you have not received your Annual DROP Statement by September 10, 2010 you may request a duplicate copy to be mailed to you by using the form found here. Simply return the completed form via mail or fax to Attn: APERS Accounting.

6/14/10 - RETIREES Retirees who retired on or before July 1 2009. and Members who entered the DROP on or before July 1 2009,  will receive a 3% Cost of Living adjustment (COLA) effective July 1, 2010.
